La semana del 11 al 16 de Abril, se celebró en Frankfurt, Alemania, la feria de iluminación Light & Building, considerada una de las mejores en el ámbito de la iluminación técnica.
Durante estos dÃas de feria hemos podido asistir a una emocionante competición, en la que se enfrentan todas las compañÃas punteras, centrada en el proceso de desarrollo de los LEDs. Y por lo que hemos visto, parece que ya ha llegado el momento en el que realmente podemos decir que el LED es una realidad, hasta el punto de que en la feria, lo extraño era ver fuentes de luz que no fueran LED.
Entendemos que poco a poco, como pasa siempre, también iremos normalizando esta tecnologÃa dentro de nuestras vidas cuotidianas. Aun asÃ, creemos interesante destacar que gracias al impulso que generan los LED, hay otras tecnologÃas que se están desarrollando de manera espectacular, como por ejemplo, los halogenuros metálicos.
Hemos podido probar, con resultados más que notables, halogenuros metálicos con un excelente CRI, con arranque rápido, con un rendimiento de hasta un 12% más que sus anteriores versiones, y además, con la posibilidad de ser regulados del 30 al 100%.
Entendemos entonces que la realidad de la iluminación del futuro será, en gran parte, los LEDs, pero queremos pensar, que no serán los únicos jugadores del partido, sino que su fuerza, impulsara a tener mejores y más eficientes fuentes de luz, en general, para las distintas aplicaciones.

The last Light+Building [-leading trade fair for Architecture and Technology-] has been held from 11 to 16 April in Frankfurt, Germany. It is considered to be one of the best fairs in the technical lighting field.
During these days , we have attended a thrilling competition amongst all the leading [lighting] companies: the development of LEDs. Finally, it seems that we can now say that the LED is a reality; what was strange in the fair was see light-sources other than LED.
We understand that little by little, as always, we will also implement this technology into our daily lives. Still, we believe that the impetus generated by LEDs, affects other technologies directly, which are being dramatically developed such as metal halide.
We have been able to try, with remarkable results, metal halide with an excellent CRI, with fast start, with a yield of up to 12% more than its previous versions, and also with the possibility of being regulated from 30 to 100%.
We deduce then that the lighting of the future will be by far the LEDs; still, we don’t want to think that LEDs will be the only players in the game, but that its strength will lead as to have better and more efficient light sources in general for different applications.
